Treating one’s mental disorder is one thing but facing the treatment’s after effects is another. If you are one of those or you know someone who have encountered any of these unfortunate situations, make sure that you or the person you know have someone to turn to. Coffee connoisseur?
Since I have moved out of the dorm, I cannot remember where I have placed my coffee maker so I contained to the other type to brew my coffee every morning. I thought that I was getting the taste fatigue of my favourite Benguet coffee until my sister found the old coffee maker. The Benguet coffee still has the old kick that I loved. I guess my coffee palette has not failed as yet.

Smiling and walking beautifully
I got some tress and foot treats today. I do not know but I do not have confidence in big time salons. I feel that they are just robbing people big time with the same hair treatment and hair cut that you could get from your neighborhood salon.
This nameless salon along Espana Boulevard near corner Vicente Cruz gives a good service in terms of hair and nail care. It is not a cheap salon in terms of the interior design but the services are way cheaper than those of pricey salons.
I decided to have a pedicure and I was right on giving the lady who will do my toenails instructions on not cutting my in grown nails which she obeyed sheepishly.
Right after that, I had a hot oil treatment for my hair and a some trimmings. I was really satisfied with the outcome of my short trip. Cute pedi and praise-worthy k-pop-inspired hair, I walked out of the salon with a huge grin on my face.

Posing some attitude
“You are really an old school nurse in terms of uniform, hairstyle and cap. “
We always get this admiring comment from our patients and their relatives or guests. Getting in our nurses uniform is one of the strict rules being implemented in our institution. Our nursing director believes that when in our uniform, it gives us the confidence and the authority to carry on our duties.

Endeavors in succession
We went to my co-worker’s house in Fairview which is ginormous. He is athletic and he made his way through college with his scholarship by being a swimming varsity. He has got so many sport trophies and medals in his room. And they are neatly organized in a huge showcase. At the moment he is concentrating on running marathons and he has dragged almost all of us in the ward to join him in his passion.

Patching things up
During the long weekend, I planned on sprucing my room. Clutters are everywhere and I find it hard to even make a few decent steps in my little crib. Old posters have fallen off and some parts of the furniture gave up their hold of its body. I started to use some abrasives to save what can still be mended. It neglected this sanctuary of mine for quite some time and I needed to focus on improving it before it is too late.

God save the chickens!
I am have been drooling over Max’s Chicken All You Can promo. Last year, I missed to take advantage of the promo for some reason that I was not aware of it. Yeah, stone me to death for I was living under a rock.
And now that it is finally back for one good month, I dragged myself to a nearby mall. I was there 5:30 and there was no line and the crew told me that I could already avail of the promo as early as that time.
I did not eat anything at home. I woke up at past 1:00 p.m. and it was freaking hot. I sipped on a cold soda on my way to the mall at around 4:00 p.m. After buying some toiletries, I headed straight to Max’s.
I am a rice person so I ordered for a cup of rice and being an iced tea person, up-sized the free drink that goes with the promo to bottomless. They serve fried chicken in quarter sizes and I was served with the leg part. Taking a bite of the red meat, I felt uncomfortable but I just thought, what the heck! I was on my third serving when I felt that I am started to get uneasy with the taste of the fried chicken. I stopped on taking in the rice and concentrated on finishing the chicken. I was targeting to finish one whole chicken but I failed. The iced that I was hoping to save me from giving up on the taste of the food or the “umay” sensation tasted like the smell of the sauna bath room in my favourite spa salon. I was able to finish four full glasses of it though.
When I come back, oh yes, I am planning to comeback, I am hoping to surpass my record and to finish a decent whole chicken. This time, no rice for me though. I will just order mashed potato to beat the umay feeling.

Taking advantage of the advancement
I was out at a nearby mall and I am really amazed that for a third world, we are sure darn progressing, technologically. You could not pass by a pack of students or clicks that are not engrossed to their cell phones and PSP playing games or surfing the net through the free WiFi provided for the mall rats. I went down to do my grocery and more people are tinkering with their gadgets and digital video cables at the food court as if they are in the comfort of their homes. I really love that we actually evolved and we are not technophobes.

Just let those talented do it
I pretty mess up with my personal documents. At times, I am having a hard time looking up for one or when luck is not on my side, my documents vanish when my computer system crashes. I really admire those who are really neat in keeping their files whether the hard copies or the soft copies. More so, I salute those who do document management from Dokmee.net. I mean how, techy and reliable your system and people are to be in the business with a number of satisfied customers?

The Casey Anthony Trial
Caylee Marie Anthony was reported missing in July 2008 by her grandmother Cynthia “Cindy” Anthony. Cindy called the cops saying that her daughter’s towed car smelled like a decaying corpse or garbage of some sort.
Casey and Caylee used to live with them (Cindy’s husband, George) until July 2008 when Casey brought her daughter out of their home . Cindy attempted to see her granddaughter but Casey made alibis of being busy at work or that Caylee was with her nanny at theme park. The said nanny was never seen by Casey’s parents, friends or ex-boyfriend.
Now twenty five-year old, Casey was first arrested in July 2008 charged with giving of false statement, neglect of a child and obstruction of criminal investigation. She was not given a chance to bail until August 2008 when was released on bail of $500,200. She was arrested again on “August 29, 2008, on charges of forgery, fraudulent use of personal information, and petty theft for forging $700 worth of checks and using her friend's credit cards without permission and due to a lack of cooperation from Casey Anthony.” (source Wikipedia)
More bone parts were found in December and medical examiner Jan Garavaglia confirmed that the remains found were those of Caylee Anthony.
Casey, was charged with murder of her 2-year old daughter starting with the argument from the jurors that Casey, waited nearly 31 days before reporting that little Caylee was missing. Casey had a reputation of non-stop partying during the days her daughter was missing.
Prosecutors accuse Casey of forcing Caylee to inhale chloroform and then suffocated her by placing duct tape on the toddler's nose and mouth since the said chemical was smelled form her towed car.
Defense claims that Caylee drowned in the family pool, but the question behind why her body has landed in the wood, with dock tape around half of her, now skull remains afloat.
Also, defense states that Caley came from dysfunctional family where she has suffered sexual abuse from her father and brother. They use the alibi of Caylee being drowned in the pool and putting the blame on Casey by her father .
The trial began in May 2011 and is set to end this June. With the attention it is getting from the people all over America and the number of curious people who want to attend the hearing, it is now considered as the decade’s OJ Simpson murder trial in 1995.

The academic freedom
June 13th marks the start of the new academic year. I really miss being in college. Being on long lines to the registration, cashier, library and all. I learned that my alma mater is now offering technical related courses in response to the demand of booming tech jobs here in abroad. If I were given a choice, I want to be a techno savvy individual as computer geeks enjoy what they do and at the same time they get richer and richer everyday.

So long Meredith. Hello Anne!
The Today Show is one of my favourite American shows. I have been an avid viewer even before Meredith Vieira has taken the seat of Katie Couric as Matt Lauer’s co-anchor.
Vieira has decided to leave the show to focus on her family.Forgivable (although she does not apologize). As a send off treat to her, they have made compilations of her wacky antics both on and off camera which I find hilarious. To mark her final day on the show, they have made a special song tribute to her which like her really brought me to tears.
The writers and every person behind and on the scene are brilliant.

Please do not die on me
I am having trouble with my 2-year old laptop. It starts to manifest problems such as frequent hanging and too low sound volume.
I have asked my neighbor to tinker with it and diagnose the problem but he failed. I also have updated my operating system but to no avail. I am now left with the option to bring it to the service center but I was advised to get a data backup just so there is a need to reformat the entire system. I wish it can still be revived. As much as I wanted to get a new laptop, I am not yet ready to get a new one.
