Happy Holidays!
While awaiting my final pay, I got the raw amount already which is subject for review of the HRD and finance. I am also awaiting my allowance for the apprenticeship program. Since I am with the government sector, it is given but unacceptable for the concerned people to take a glacial pace processing our measly allowance. Our November 1-15 monetary help is still in the pipeline. Guess, I will not be having happy holidays.

A real headache
If you think applying for a job is hard, wait until you resign from your work and start processing your clearance to get your certificate of employment and final pay. First, it is hard to find all the signatories for each department so you will end up calling the contact person only to get a reply that the signatory is out for a meeting. When you finally have completed the clearance, it has to pass through another set of signatories care of HRD. After waiting for more than a week, you will find out that the computation was wrong so they have to recomputed everything and route it again for signature and I do not know if they hired a snail for a messenger. It does not end there, when the computation has been made, it will be sent to a third party insurer/accountant or whatever and wait for eternity. In your second life, the third party vendor will send their reply and their computation has yet to be assessed by the company’s Finance Department but before that, it has to pass through tons of signatories in the HRD. In short or in long, whichever is appropriate, you need to have tons of patients and atleast two lifetimes to get cleared and have your not-so hefty final pay.

A blissful vacation
When I hear of the word charisma, it makes me think of the Greek word Karisma which means a divine favour. So if the word is being used as a brand name of chain of hotels, I am picturing unequalled luxurious vacation, gourmet cooking, stress-free relaxation spree, white sand and clear water beaches. True to the word, Karisma Hotels incorporate all of these aspects in their chain of resorts.
Karisma’s five signature resorts include: El Dorado Royale Spa Resort (adults only), El Dorado Seaside Suites (adults only), Azul Beach (family-friendly) and Azul Blue (family-friendly – opening November 2006) and Hidden Beach Resort (naturalist). Azul Blue Hotel + Spa – Riviera Maya
Whatever kind of vacation you have in mind, deep-sea fishing, cenote diving or meditation classes, natural bliss, swinging in veranda hammock or Cancun All Inclusive Family Vacation you will surely find a perfect fit.

The end
It is the final week of Stairway to Heaven. Since it is an off shoot of the Koreanovela, I have the idea of its tragic and melancholic ending.
While Dingdong Dantes' acting has improved a whole lot better, I should say that it needs a little push. On the other hand, Rhian Ramos has given justice to Jodi's character and I am impressed by her acting. I actually like her. She is looks very elegant and yet is she has no inhibitions of acting as the underdog and an ordinary girl.
In the coming week, I will be extra busy accomplishing my pre-employment requirements during the day and watching my favorite shows in the evening.

Stereo typing
Admittedly, I am hooked to the Pinoy version of Stairway to Heaven. Actually I did not know that I am into Dingdong Dantes until I was told your balikbayan. One night, our teenager balikbayan was talking to me (I guess for a while already) and he noticed that I was just a few inches away from the TV screen staring at Cholo (Dingdong Dantes). When he did not get any response from the usual talkative me, he then exclaimed: so that is your guy.
Until now, I have this Cholo/Dingdong fever and when we were in Singapore, I happened to sit next to a guy who looked like a Koreanovela actor. I was talking incessantly mentioning Cholo. Then he smiled at me. I asked if he's Korean or Chinese. He said he's Chinese. Then he asked backed if I were Filipino or Malaysian.
I guess the stereotyping was there. His skin was milky white and his eyes were slit-like. My skin was brown and my eyes were wide.
I did not take offense on that, I hope he did not.

Stepping up for the challenge
I have met with my former teammate in Singapore who served as our tour guide and introduced us to Singaporean culture.
As we discussed our plans for the future, she mentioned her intent to pursue further education specifically about getting a master’s degree. She asked me if getting it online would be a good decision and without a doubt I told her that it is a wise one if she will get it from an accredited university like the Capella Univeristy.
It is the leading provider of master’s and doctorate’s degree online. It offers ‘Inside Online Education’ podcast features a discussion of state-approved reading and literacy programs. This podcast features a discussion with Beverly Enns, Capella’s faculty chair for reading/literacy, which usually lasts about 15 minutes. It also contains interviews with Capella students, faculty and staff sharing the experience of online education. This discussion is available on iTunes.
Capella is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and it is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
