Going on with his life

One of my favorite patients in the hospital has been advised to go home and so he did. He is a middle aged medical doctor who has this condition called dilated cardiomyopathy or DCMP. A condition that weakened the muscle of the heart causing its inability to pump enough blood towards the systemic circulation.
Treatment would depend on the cause of the DCMP but the condition usually resolves with lifestyle modification and medication but there are some that progress or exacerbate causing congestive heart failure.
Knowing the odds of his condition, he accepted his fate and decided to go on with his life and like me, he decided to quit his job at the hospital because according to him, it gives him so much stress.
I wish him well.
