I just saw Cristine Reyes' interview on 24-oras on YouTube her and her family being on the rooftop of their 2-storey house in an attempt to elude the flash flood caused by typhoon Ondoy.
Our cable TV was busted, good thing that our internet connection did not fail me again.
While I feel for her, it is not only her that requires immediate evacuation and relief in Provident Village or in any calamity-stricken area for that matter.
She is lucky still to have gotten a generous amount of TV airtime to cry for help. I admire her courage to lead her family to safety
I pray that everyone else is now in the safe area and being taken care of.

A time to relax
With the recent calamity that has hit our nation, I think a time for relaxation should be delayed but never be put aside.
It could wait until the Halloween since there are affordable Disney World Tickets , Universal Studios tickets and SeaWorld tickets available.
After the horrifying scene my nieces has witnessed it is high time for them to get a family-frinedly treat . I am sure that they will enjoy the great parade of Disney villains with a new fireworks show with beautiful Halloween which colors light up the sky at the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom. They always look forward to do trick-or-treat, in costume, with their favorite Disney characters.

Relief measures
Our company has initiated rescue and relief operations to those who were hardly hit by the flash flood. Libreng "tawag centers" were set up especially in the areas of Marikina, Rizal and Pasig.
Also, calamity monetary assistance will also be given to employees who also suffered from this catastrophe. The company also has given a three-day calamity leave to the concerned employees.
I am really thankful that our company manages to help in times like this.

Whatta typhoon
I thought it was just another rainy day so I went off to the office as usual. Little I know that this tropical storm Ondoy would cause such a catastrophe in the entire Metro Manila, Rizal and nearby provinces. Seriously, the wind is not that strong and it was not even regarded as super typhoon but the heavry rains it splashed in the NCR have caused the water lever in the water sheds and rivers to rise.
For the first time, our house was flooded. I got stranded and was able to get home by 1 am on Sunday.
And although the water has subsided, I was surprised to see how our house was swept by the water that came in so quickly. Thanks goodness that my family was able to save all the things in our house and put them on higher grounds.
Although we live in Sampaloc, there was no instance that it flooded even infront of our gate. Same is true with our Quezon Ave. where I work. Below is a snapshot shot on my cell phone.

A haven for mortals
Sensuality and seclusion. Sound interesting. Add white sand, indulgence, elite, gourmet, sophisticated. These adjectives describe riviera maya vacations
It is totally highly individualized experience fit for the swank.
It offers private ocean-view intimacy, beachside bar swings, dedicated Beach Butlers, hot tubs and hammocks. There are white gauze curtains floating over four poster beds, sunset margaritas served by a private Beach Butler on a private stretch of sand, sumptuous presented food prepared by expert chefs. All these are part of Karisma’s way of continuous pampering under one roof.
Once you have been into these haven, you will never want to be somewhere else.

Punk'd?
Every 25th of the month we are getting our monetary rice subsidy through Smart Money. Surprisingly, it was not credited on time so I decided to transfer some funds in order for me to buy some fruits at a fruit stand near St. Luke’s.
The transfer when through as confirmed by a text message.
So when I attempted to withdraw the funds, the machine took a while and ejected my card telling me that the branch was busy. I am not annoyed but I was frustrated to find out that the funds were deducted.
I called the Smart Money hotline and after the usual verification, I was told to wait for three banking days for the reversal.

Working for the money
Speaking of catheters. I think I will be needing one with the tons of work load that has been assigned to me.
I do not want to kill my boss. I just do not want to see her.
I want to work in peace and I will deliver what is expected of me.
I do not care if she just stares at her desktop the wholeday as long as she is not breathing down my neck or blocking my airway, we will not have a problem.

Saving lives
It has been two weeks since my basic skills training for nurses has ended and I honestly miss the hospital work. I miss everything there: toxic patients, IV fluids, vital signs monitoring, the indwelling foley catheter.
I must say that in order to help the patients get to early recovery of their illness, they need to get tender loving care from the healthcare providers and the best equipment there is.
In the US, they should blessed for having largest and most technologically advanced independently owned online retailers of life enhancing products
In this tough economic time, the free eCatalog that offers limited time specials and discounts to anyone who signs up is of great help.

That Latina Wizard
I am not into social networking anymore. Although I have accounts on Friendster and Facebook, I rarely open them. But there is something I am crazy about and that is following Selena Gomez on FB. The youngest UNICEF ambassador is such a sweetheart. She dances gracefully, sings well and is good on skateboard.

Keeping it low
I learned from TMZ that Jennifer Hudson has just given birth and I have been looking for the buzz about it but I found none.
I thought being in the spotlight would rid you of your privacy. I guess she did a great job concealing her pregnancy.
Kudos to you J. Hud!!

Stocking for the rainy days
Getting the 9-5 job would not suffice in this tough economic times so we should consider into investing in something that has sure returns.
I am always puzzled by how the stock market operates and how the stocks work.
I learned that first you need to get a powerful tool like an option screener. Choose the one that provides essential data in relation to stock options. You need something that offers convenience and control in sorting, filtering and analyzing more than 3000 stock options. By saying convenience, I mean online.
Get a patented decision support technology that identifies the highest return option trades.

Getting hitched for the 23rd time
I finally came across the real thing.
Wok Kundor, a 107-year old Malaysian woman wants to get married for the23rd time.
Motivated by her insecurities, she wants to tie the knot for again. She is worried that her current husband is going to ditch her for a younger woman when he gets out of rehab.
Malaysian media reports that Kundor’s marriages last an average of four years.
So, you go girl!

Getting hitched
I was searching for the details of the news about the 107-year-old woman who wants to get married for the 23rd time. As I google for it, I came across this 107-year old virgin who wants to finally get laid err married.
Wang Guiying is on the look-out for a lad who is about her age around Chongqin, China. Since she is running against time, she open to hooking up with a youngster in his late 90s or early 100s.

Gearing up for the next paintball challenge
My friend has been trying to talk me into paintball gaming. Seriously, seeing his bruises after each game, it makes me to decide to just become a spectator until he introduced me to airsoft safety gear and devices.
He is now getting his perfect gear from ZephyrAirsoft.com which carries Airsoft and Airgun and BB Gun Gear at absolutely low prices and he also get them through free shipping.
They offer the best brands of rechargeable batteries, safety glasses, battery chargers and biodegradable bb’s.
A little more convincing and I think I will be in full battler gear the next he comes home.

Freedom of expression
Do you remember the incident in December 2008 when an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at then President Bush?
While people in his country consider him a hero for expressing his disgust with Bush, the other side of the world thinks otherwise. And now, just before the end of Ramadan, the “shoe thrower” was freed.

A new winner has emerged
Kevin Skinner bagged the grand prize for America’s Got Talent. People have different bets but America has spoken and Skinner ended up as the front runner.
Seriously, I never got a chance to watch any episode of any season of this talent show, lack of interest perhaps. It’s just that contestants put different things on the judge’s table and I do not know how they are being judged.
For what it is worth, I just wish Skinner a good luck!

Funny take on VMA flare
I have just seen this video which is a spoof of Kanye's unruly interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the VMAs.
Although Kanye has apologized to Swift and to her family, it's time to look at it in a light manner.
This really cracks me up.
I so love techy people.

Her day has come
She won our hearts by surprise. Although this ordinary-looking lass did not take home the grand prize for Britain’s Got Talent, it is not surprising for her to land a record deal.
Now, Susan Boyle has just released in her debut album in the US.
Go check her out with Wild Horses and let you decide.

Would you dare to be different?
Now that I have mentioned about Nicole Richie naming her baby Sparrow (full name is Sparrow James Midnight Madden), I came to thinking, it is nice to name your kid a unique one but here's my two cents:
1. You can choose a unique name for your baby but not compromising his childhood. Just imagine the mockery he will have to endure throughout his life
2. While we are in computer age, there are still times that you need to write your name in full especially in school. Would you want your child cursing you silently or explicitly because of your love to play around the alphabets?
I thought she has learned about the comments (read: mockery) on Gwyneth Paltrow's decision in naming her daughter after a fruit.
Well to each his own.
I love Nicole, her bold fashion sense and being carefree but I am not with her on this name picking game.

Glad to be back
I lost track of time. I did not notice that it has been over 2 months since I last fed my life updates here.
You see, I just gave birth, joke! (Nicole Richie actually gave birth to Baby Sparrow - what a name!)
So now that I am back, I will try my hardest to pitch in my daily rants and raves.
