I need a workspace

Today, I was a little bit unproductive due to the frequent hanging of my PC. I had to reboot it from time. Our office PCs are all new but the thing is, there is a gazillion bytes of files that needs to be saved in the hard drive. Although we have given with common folder, the size is still limited forcing us to delete some files that we think are still important. Apart from that, our team’s shared folders seem to be in complete chaos making it tedious looking for the file that we need stat.

It will be good if there’s an online project management that assures of a secure and efficient online file sharing anytime. This online workspace or the extranet tool would be of great help if it will allow easy technophobe friendly uploading and sharing especially during a project collaboration with other remote offices.

You see with our current filing system, I was just able to find today the file that I badly need since January. Too bad that the “search file” did not work for me.

Weekend Snaphots - Giving Back

It's an advantage to be part of a company where employee volunteerism to help the community realize their sustainability.
Every year, we are given with one community service leave which is paid to participate in the company-sponsored community activity.
In partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK) and PLDT Foundation, Smart and PLDT employee volunteers help build the houses as our commitment to GK to build seven GK villages all voer the country.
The pictures below were taken in October 2007 last year as we took the privelege of building houses in General Nakar, Quezon province, for landslide and flood victims.


Though it was really a muscle work under the heat of the sun, carrying buckets of cement and straining the sand and painting the houses it's a great reward to hear the little kids living there say how they appreciate the volunteers' efforts.

Healing

It’s not as easy at it looks. From the interventions, to checking in to checking out. Getting a person so close to you involved in a and or get hooked on substance abuse has great magnitude both on the patient and the family.

So much to say that it involves the whole family.
