PhotoHunt - Emotion

Meet the poor man's Gollum.
Everyone who has seen him perform thought that he successfully channeled Gollum's emotions of greed, hatred and evilness in LOTR. He even volunteered to have his head shaved just to pullout Smigol's devious emotions for our play.
Are you feeling it yet?
He was full of emotions on stage and in photo ops.
Oh yeah, he had his 15 minutes of fame.

I'm a bit conscious about myself so here are basically some parts of me.
I am a beach (be careful on how you say it hahaha) person. So bits and pieces of me were taken on the beach

I was trying to test the photo effect before I used it. Because the last time I used this camera (in October on the beach), all I got were white shots. See sample below

Good thing I bumped into a friend who's into photography and he made me his guinea pig model.

PhotoHunt - Time

It's great to be back after two weeks of hiatus.
To make up, I have two entries for the week's theme:


This time piece has been around since circa '40s and it still works. Time indicated there how late Mitch went home from chillin' out with friends.



The last two were taken from the office window on May 1.
May 1 is a non-working holiday for "normal" people. It's Labor Day. The time of the year dedicated to Filipino laborers and they are given a day off from work.
Since call center dudes are not "normal" we were in the office.
May is supposed to be summertime but it rained.
And another thing, it's a belief that the first rain in the month of May cures so it's the most awaited time of the year for the old folks who want to get healed. Either they frolic in the rain or just catch some water from the sky or from the gutter and make use of it.

Our scouting activity about two years ago included rapelling. This water tank here is pretty high for a beginner like me so I backed off. Hahaha.

PhotoHunt - Metal

I was thinking of posting my dorky picture wearing the metal headgear used to augment my dental braces but I changed my mind.
As I scan my files of pictures, I saw this one taken during our community health nursing a couple of years ago.
This piece of rusty metal is the primary source of water supply in one of the depressed rural areas in my country. Water used in cooking, drinking, bathing and basically in everything. The reason why GI problems are the main concern here.

So where do our taxes really go?

PhotoHunt - I spy

This is not a totally Nancy Drew thing but I swear I tried by hardest to pull one off.

This hair product that I'm fond of using got re-packaged. It now comes in an atomizer bottle.
While I was arranging my "kikay" (girly) kit, I noticed that tag line: Restores damaged hair.

Then I get to thinking, before I got a hair treatment, my hair was damaged, so if I’ll use this product, will my hair get back its status quo? No way highway!

I know that what it wants to convey is that your hair will be repaired or something to that effect.

I think there should be a noun between the words restores and damaged.

PhotoHunt - Different

A different way of retailing.
Instead of selling sodas and other refreshments on the sidewalk some local folks have found an alternative to avoid being chased by the police for illegal vending on sidewalks.
Refreshments in the middle of sea. Cool eh? They also sell fresh buko (coconut) juice still in the nutshell.

PhotoHunt - Party

This was our final pose for our Christmas Party sing and dance contest in 2007.
We did the Canadian Chanteuse's medley for the music living legend theme.
You could hardly make out of me. Clue: I'm of of the 5 kneelers at the center. You could only see my forehead because I have bad knees and these make me a bad kneeler.
This was my first time to perform in front of so many people including our company's big wigs.
I was so nervous. I was thinking that I might bring the defending champion a bad luck.
Good thing we were blessed, because we bagged the first prize.

PhotoHunt - Free

We have been having our Team Celebration program yearly for 4 years already. Out of the 4 vacation spot resorts, it's only Patio Pacific in Boracay that gave this free gift. It was actually January 12th when our messenger handed the notebook to me. It's very useful since it's thick enough for school notes and it also has calendar.
Yeah, some of the best things in life are free. Like this one photo I took of my co-performers during our victory party in Puerto Galera which was also by the way was free.
I guess FREE is my favorite number.

PhotoHunt - Heavy

At almost1400 grams, pretty heavy for a coffee mug huh?
Well it's because I'm pitching in P10.00 coins and only P10.00 coins in there.

It's nearly filled and by the time that it's full already, I'll be bringing it to the bank.

I wonder how the bank teller would react seeing an adult carrying a "piggy bank".

PhotoHunt - Narrow

I know, this is something that I should not be proud of. Well I'm not but this is the reality. These are just the closest things I could get pictures of related to this week’s theme which is narrow.

Basically, our roads in Sampaloc, Manila are narrow.
What make them narrower are the following:

1. Sidewalk vendors. As I have said in my related post: Can you blame them? Why rent a stall when you can have a selling space for free?
2. Illegal Parking – people here love to park their cars on the streets. Ergo, the 2-way streets are reduced to one way, because people are walking on them and they let their working and trash cars lie on both sides of the street. Just imagine the traffic. Only tricycles and bikes could pass through.
3. Sidewalks are usually made as house extensions or mini gardens. I bet you can't even see the sidewalks anymore!

PhotoHunt: Old-Fashioned

Believe it or not, this cash register still works. Old fashioned to me means vintage. Old school.
That thing was used in my friend's grandfather's Chinese Restaurant circa 1950s. The restaurant still serves authentic Chinese deli not the typical dumpling you'll find in every corner. She said that this requires four people to be moved from one place to another.
My favorite restaurant (for their Benguet coffee and cheap but delicious meals) in Baguio City still uses this type of cash register. It's 456 Restaurant on Session Road.
